How To ..
How to choose between a pass, tickets, or Anywhere Anytime options?
We at Rail Europe are committed to offer you the largest choice of options. Yet, we know it can be discombobulating sometimes and are making our best to keep it simple.
In a nutshell:
- If you already know your itinerary, use our multi-city search: our expert system will define what the options are for you. For itineraries that include more than 3 trips, you will see that passes generally offer the best value for money. No matter what, the system will price your specific itinerary with all possible options for comfort and flexibility.
- If you don’t know yet where and when you want to travel, you will probably prefer going with a pass. Don’t forget that you’ll need a reservation to access certain trains in addition to your pass. You can purchase them locally, or from Rail Europe prior to your departure. The number of seats accessible to pass holders can be restricted, so make sure you secure your reservation well in advance, especially when you travel at peak times on popular routes.
- If you travel in France only, you can enjoy the benefits of Anywhere Anytime France, a Rail Europe exclusive. It is basically a collection of pre-paid e-tickets at a flat rate, in 1st class (Comfort). Manage your account on-line to determine your itinerary and schedule whenever you are ready. As for all discounted tickets, the number of available seats can be restrained, so make sure you book in advance when traveling on peak trains and/or on popular routes.
Voila — that’s probably much simpler than you could have imagined. For more accurate information, use our multi-city search — even if you are not completely sure of your itinerary yet, that will give you a good overall idea.
